TRAVEL TO INNSBRUCK

 

ARRIVING BY AIR

Innsbruck airport is situated just 10 minutes from the city center and has excellent bus and taxi connections. All year round, this international airport offers good connections to travel hubs like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London or Vienna, where you can fly to destinations worldwide. Also, you may choose to fly into Munich and travel on to Innsbruck directly by train or shuttle service.

ARRIVING BY RAIL

Innsbruck’s main railway station is located at Südtiroler Platz, within easy walking distance to the city centre and Congress Innsbruck. The city is connected to the European Inter-City railway network, daily trains reach Innsbruck from all over Europe.

TRAVELLING BY CAR

Innsbruck is connected to major European motorways arriving from the north (Western Europe and Germany via Munich), from the south (Italy via Verona), from the west (Switzerland via Zurich) and from the east (Hungary via Vienna).

From Vienna: A12 motorway.

From Switzerland: A12 motorway. Through the Arlberg Road Tunnel or toll-free via the Arlberg region.

From Italy: A13 (Brenner motorway); tolls apply from the exit Innsbruck-Süd.

From East Tyrol: Take the Felbertauern tunnel toll road or go via the Puster Valley.

TRANSPORTATION WITHIN INNSBRUCK

Within the city, a dense network of frequently running public buses and streetcars connects Innsbruck and its surrounding villages. The Old Town, the congress venue and most hotels, however, are within easy walking distance.
